Odd mixture of vehicles from different time periods
Why did they have an odd mixture of vehicles from different time periods? Seems like the vehicles were both modern and 50s vehicles (including a city bus)?
shareThat was a carryover from Batman (the Burton one). The mixture of the 40s and the modern world seemed to be the hip thing. Art Deco was in a resurgence and 40s fashions were revived in the 80s and into the early 90s (doublebreasted suits, shoulder pads, etc...). The Batman animated series carried it on, though they started to move away from it by the Superman animated series and with Lois and Clark.
From a production standpoint, it fit the noir tone the were using (same with Batman), but they still needed more modern technology, so you got a bit of both.
