Not directly related to the movie

In the TV Series, you never see Ferris skipping school, not to mention downtown Chicago, so I don't see how this has anything to do with the movie this is based on. So the characters' names are the same, so what? That doesn't make this show related to the movie. That might be one of the reasons (if not the only one) this show didn't last. But then on the other hand, some people probably just didn't find it funny. Actually, I don't even think Ferris (or any other character) even mentions skipping school. If they're not going to show him skip, they could have at least made references to it. But since this was just called "Ferris Bueller". maybe the writers (or whoever came up with the idea for this show) already knew that.
