Shannen Doherty touches down in New York as she takes the road to travel and give back as she awaits cancer treatment results. The 45 year old actress has decided to travel until April when she finds out whether the aggressive round of radiation therapy she finished has impacted on her breast cancer. This is some of what she said.

Unfortunately, that aggressive radiation and chemo destroys the body!! And the mental and emotional scars also last forever. Fear of it returning is very real, even after years.
I hate Cancer and that anyone has to suffer through it.
My aunt is going through it now too (Stage 4 and aggressive chemo, terrible side effects).
My prayers are with Shannen.
I am sorry to hear that.
My dad also survived cancer, but we had no idea until after the fact how bad it was (perhaps a blessing in disguise). And he still deals with the side effects to this day as well.

I had thyroid cancer and had to have NOT RADIATION but RADIOACTIVE IODINE to kill any remaining cells after my surgeries.
the sad part, the cancer treatment, no matter what you have, destroys your white blood cell count and you will never ever get the right amount 'back'. ever. It has been 15 years and I still get bronchitis 'like that'.
Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.
