question regarding Donnas virginity...
Now I know this show has had a few continuity errors and all... but I was recently RE-watching the episode from season 1 where they all went to Palm Springs and stayed with David's grandparents, etc...
...and when Brenda was talking to Kelly and Donna in that episode about the prospect of losing her virginity to Dylan, Kelly was giving her some advice about what sex was like, etc... and it SEEMED to imply when Donna chimed in that SHE had an inkling about what it was possibly like and that she may have been giving her own 2 cents... the dialogue was somewhat cryptic about it, it was kinda hard to tell...
Now I know Donnas character wasn't very well developed in season 1 and didn't get much screen time or a backstory or storylines at all at that point...
...but my question is this... was Donna intended to be written as a virgin from the beginning??? Or was she written as a character who had sexual experience AT FIRST and then it was retconned and she was RE-written to be a virgin in season 2 when she got together with David and kept making him wait?
Or did the writers not decide one way or another if Donna was a virgin, but MADE her one in season 2 with her whole relationship with David?
its just that Palm Springs episode from season 1 was a bit confusing to me. Plus there was that guy in the season 1 episode when Brandon crashes his car and gets arrested for drunk driving. When Donna had that party at her parents house when they were on vacation. That guy she was dating who was all over her at her party. What was the deal with HIM??? Donna having him over at her parents house when she had the house all to herself, that implies something sexual may happen lol... but who WAS that guy? What was his name? Was he ever brought up, or seen or mentioned after that episode?
Sorry for the confusion, but the status of Donnas virginity in season 1 seemed oddly inconsistent with her virginity for the rest of the series lol... just wondering if anyone knows what the deal was
