When Harry & Sally drove from Chicago to NY were they both newly graduated? Or was it just Sally? Because there is a 13 year age difference between Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. I know it's called acting, but I'm wondering if they were supposed to be the same age in the script?

shareYes, they are supposed to be around the same age. Billy Crystal is supposed to be, like Sally, an early-20s new college graduate at the beginning of the film. He is too old for that, but he is overall good in the part so I overlook it.

When a man is 13 years older than the woman it's normal nobody would say a thing if the woman is 21 and the man is 34 it would be weird but once your over 25 big age gaps like 13 years don't matter had meg ryan had been 13 years older than billy crystal it would have been a different story it would be if billy crystal was 13 years younger than meg ryan.
