My aunt is very sick

I understand that the vulgar language had to be overdubbed in this film but I'm curious to know; What does Richard REALLY say to Gwen when they first meet and he says "my aunt is very sick?"

if there are a few others, I'd like to know. Thanks in advance!

reply

Really its dubbed? I always thought that was the real line. Maybe I'll have to watch it again.

I'm watching "Weekend at Bernie's" right now on the Fox Movie Channel. Movies shown on this channel are unedited and uncut. Richard definitely says, "My aunt is very sick."

i have it on dvd and its dubbed too. if you follow his lips, it doesnt match. i know he says something about his aunt but the line was different before they overdubbed it.

reply

Haha. I knew what the line originally was. It was, my aunt has a huge d--k. Strange. haha. Anyway, too vulgar for eighties p-13 movies. Licensed to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations.

If the line was anything other than 'my aunt is very sick' why would Gwen ask him how his aunt his a short while later in the lift, and then again at Bernies house when he tells her she passed away?

Idiots.

reply

I think that it was just a goof with his lines needing to be re-recorded and it wasn't in sync.

Like the previous person said, she would not ask about a sick aunt if it was something else.

Besides, if the OP thinks it was changed on TV then why would he say something bad enough to be edited for tv to the girl he is trying to date.

lol! thanks. i know it was something vulgar but couldn't make out what he said.

He said the same thing. It's just that this movie, for all the fun it can provide, has some of the worst redubbings I've ever seen in my life. You just have to see the scene in the party where the gay drunkards are talking. It's like they didn't even try to match them up.

reply

in the german version he says to her "Meine Tante hat Gürtelrose". (meaning "my aunt has herpes zoster") I think thats funnier than just "she's very sick".
