i don't know but i'm pretty sure dead people start rotting pretty quickly. and then smell absolutely horrendous. hmmmmmm.

not after just 24-72 hours. people have wakes and evrything and they last at least 2 days, so no he wouldnt.

When people are in their wake they are embalmed to make them last longer before decomposing. Bernie would have rapidly decompsed in the summer heat.

It's a movie, if he decomposed we wouldn't have this movie.

At the very least Bernie's skintone would've turned very pale, and in real life Bernie's corpse couldn't have lasted as long- or freshly preserved as he appeared in film- without embalment and cold storage.

But if you think that's bad, the idea for a sequel to this film was almost preportious. I mean, by the beginning of the sequel Bernie's been dead for nearly 3-days, and unless he was embalmed -which I don't think he was- there was just no way the story in Part 2 would've worked with a nearly week old corpse. Those are my $0.05 cents.
