I am sorry folks to pee on your excitement but this movie is not original but copy of an Indian movie Jaane Bhi Do Yarno which was made in 1983. Yeah, its true even Hollywood copies and rips off. So who's the victim now?

Well actually, quite a bit more than a handful. 401 people rated it on IMDb, meaning that they've seen it. There are most definitely quite a few more people who have seen it. It's a cult classic in India. I'd say that's quite a few people, considering how India has the second largest population in the world...
Just because 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro' isn't as well known as some Hollywood movies doesn't make 'Weekend at Bernie's' any less of a copy.

Well, the main motive/story is even older from 1955 by Alfred Hitchcock "The Trouble With Harry", so I wouldn't say it's a copy of that Indian movie.
