Weekend at Bernies 3

Do you think they will ever consider making a 3rd one ?

The 2nd was actually enjoyable to me so I would like to see it happen.

what do you guys think ?

reply

I would think after 20 years, a corpse would've decomposed beyond recognition and would certainly fall apart if subjected to the various stunts they put Bernie through in the first two movies.

Unless of course, Bernie was put through some heavy-duty preservation process like they do with Lenin, and there's no reason anyone would do THAT! ;)

As one of the two main characters walk along Wall St, a limo stops nearby due to traffic lights, just to reveal BERNIE at the back seat!!!

Turns out The CIA found out about a Russian connection to money laundering and all that voodoo jazz that went through second installment, and decided to study the 'body that never ends', just to find out Bernie is ALIVE!!! He was in a comatose induced by the Russian drug, which the Agency STILL wants (now more than ever)- hence part III...

I'm writing it lol

(coming to think of it it could rock, seeing them at the mainland...)

Count me in as part of the public that is still clamoring for the threequel. The firs two flicks were profitable, why wouldn't Hollywood want to cash in on a sure thing? But I will ONLY go see it if they bring back Terry Kiser at least for a cameo. Have you seen the recent "Berney Dance" fad on YouTube? None of them can do the dance as well as the4 original Bernie, Terry Kiser. He is the MASTER of that bit and needs to come back. I hear he's semi-retired but I bet he would come back for this.

reply

Maybe if they froze his body for 20 years! lol

With all the terrible remakes and sequels coming out these days, my top two dreams for sequels are Ghostbusters 3 and Beverly Hills Cop 4. I would, however love to see a sequel to this, purely because it would be nice to see Jonathan Silverman and Andrew McCarthy again and it's better than a god-awful remake.

ya i was thinking the same thing about the third one but i guess im more interested in seeing silverman and mccarthy acting side by side again.

and about the above comment.... aren't they making both those movies? i know eddie murphy is in the works to make beverly hills cop 4 but i could have swore i heard rumors about another ghostbusters too

reply

They could just start where Part 2 left off...All 3 lead actors could pull it off!!

reply

It would be kind of hard to explain how Bernie's corpse has aged 20 years if he had been frozen. lol

Solution: Blame it on the Mo-bu. Whatever spell(s) she cast on Bernie, might've given him enough "life" to not decompose. Voodoo-hoodoo magic is a tricky thing.

In short. Weekend at Bernies 3 with all 3 actors again, would be awesome. Make it so!

reply

That is awesome.

Count me as one of those who loved how Weekend at Bernie's 2 was used in the Comeback episode of Seinfeld, it never should have been made. Of course part 3 should never be made. As the previous poster suggests, a remake is more logical.
