Eventually the body would start rotting.

So they couldn't keep a body in such heat for too long.

Sure in a well ventilated place. But on a hot beach it wouldn't take that long.

It's just a movie

Well actually, most of the time Bernie's body was in the house, and given how generally luxurious it was you'd expect that it would be very well air conditioned. And some of the time it was outside was at night.

reply

After two or three days it would be really bad and the stench would be unbearable.

Bernie has anti-decomposing qualities. And strong cologne.

Good answer! That always bugged me too. Bodies get cold really fast and still within hours. When I first watched it I just wondered if perhaps he was in a coma and would wake up at the end. But it's just a comedy, and I try to see if for what it is.

If one were to actually pay attention to the movie, you would realize the timeline from his death to the end of the movie is roughly 20-24 hours.

reply

Also, notice the timeline into the second movie-- he does start decomposing once they arrive in St Thomas and unpack the body.
They have to spray the room with room freshener due to the stench.

So: a realistic, down to earth show..which is completely off the wall swarming with magic robots?!
