how about a prequel...
Set in the Warlocks time showing us how Redferne Tracked down and captured The Warlock
shareSet in the Warlocks time showing us how Redferne Tracked down and captured The Warlock
shareHeh I'd certainly like to see that, more of Julian Sands in period costume...
Hopefully Richard E Grant's Scottish accent could have improved by now too ^_~
thats a pretty good idea...the warlock's infamy in his own time can only be imagined from the two warlock flicks and it would be interesting to see him wreak satanic havoc in his own time. i doubt it will happen, sadly.
shareOr if Richard E Grant isn't available, call Christophe Lambert... ;-)
shareThough I would think that this would be an excellent film in concept, look at the sequels that already exist. In my opinion there wasn't much in them redeemable. I also heard that Julian Sands was upset with the way that the sequels turned out, and that he wouldn't be appearing in any more of them.
Anyone have any information on it?
Sebastyen Storm
Emperor of the Sovreign State of Firefly Valley
That could explain why he wasn't in the official third movie.
shareBack in the day when this movie was first out, that was always my thought: that they should have done a prequel showing the whole backstory. It was clear that there was a history between Redferne and the Warlock involving the death of Redferne's wife.
shareIf you read the novel based on the film, the back story is told in some detail.
shareI didn't know there was a novel. Where can I get it from
share I picked up a copy from Amazon.com, several years ago. The novel adds in more carnage and detail as to how the Warlock actually kills the young boy. In the novel, the Warlock usually rapes his victims and does all sorts of things to them that are somewhat hinted at in the movie. I remember one example in particular:
The Warlock kills Chas by chopping off his finger and then biting out his tongue.
The cops show up at Kassandra's job and start to describe Chas's death. They stop when they say "Evidence of massive.."
This is the films version.
In the book they say, "evidence of massive anal penetration" as this is immediately after the Warlock has defiled Chas.
Book's title is the same as a movie? If it's not reply with an author name at least please. I hope there are more such details like the one you posted above. Reminds me of time when i read the 'Godfather' which gave me a lot of light on that movie, especially the Luca Brasci character.
share The novel has the same title as the film. I managed to find the book by typing in the name of the publisher; Avon, along with the words warlock. Here is a direct link:

I would actually like to see a 4th Warlock film which combines to two first films. It would be great if Redfern somehow traveled back to present time again and formed an allaiance with the druids who have also vowed to destroy the warlock.
