Kid and The Warlock

How did The Warlock kill the kid? I remember hearing something about coyotes, but then another poster said The Warlock shinned him alive. Did they ever say how the kid died? I could imagine if coyotes are mentioned, The Warlock may have placed a spell that made the coyotes attack the boy, and afterward, The Warlock skinned his dead or dying body.

The warlock skinned the boy. The coyotes were only blamed. Nobody suspected a human being had done it.

As to how, I've read that in the novel by Ray Garton(which I have not read), he goes into detail about how the warlock actually does it.
