the problem is kids these day just hate those kind of movies ......

AMDG

We're giving away the fact that we were all young in the 80's! :P

In about twenty years, everyone who grew up with "High School Musical" will be putting up similar posts bemoaning the lack of good "classic" movies for kids.

reply

well you've got to admit though that most of the movies we watched as kids were, in fact, pretty lousy. we only like them because of the nostalgia.

reply

Yeah, I think that was his or her point.

Not Quite Human. Still Not Quite Human. The Parent Trap part two and three.
Those were some good one.
THERE IS NO NORMAL!

Was the camping one White Wolves II with Zac from Saved By The Bell (Mark Paul), Amy Dolenz, the girl from Honey I shrunk the kids, etc. where they split into two groups and their leader Mr B accidentally gets knocked off the cliff and they have to try and keep him alive while trying to get to the rangers station? It was a sequel to A Cry In The Wild (based on the book "Hatchet") with the kid who played the younger brother in Honey I shrunk the kids.

There was also another camping one called Kidz In The Woodz or something. I think Tatayana Ali was in it as well as Carlton lol and Candace Cameron.

I just baught this movie on DVD through ebay. I have watched it like 6 times in like three days. I love Shelly Long. I didnt know that Tori Spelling was in it till I seen the credits...

Melanie C- "ya know what I mean"

reply

i didn't realise til years later either lol

dean:it's slip 'n' slide time!
tori:oh,hell no.

reply

My LORD.

"Baught" for "bought". I've NEVER seen that one.

reply

Amy Dolenz wasn't the girl in Honey I Shrunk the kids, but she was in White Wolves II.

"Carol Anne, go into the light"!

reply

No, I meant amy dolenz AND the girl from honey I shrunk the kids were both in the movie. I guess I should have worded it better :)

reply

How about Ami Dolenz in She's Out of Control, The Heavenly Kid, Splash 2, Young Again, and Teen Witch? All of these used to play on a loop in the 80's when The Disney Channel was Paid tv with NO ANNOYING ADVERTISEMENTS. Then there were the older movies like The Apple Dumpling Gang, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1969), Freaky Friday (1976), Toby Tyler, The World's Fastest Athlete Swiss Family Robinson, and the best, which features a young extremely breathtakingly handsome Sean Connery- Darby O'Gill and the Little People.

maybe disney should do a spin-off network like nickelodeon has done with tvland, showing all the old stiff, the ORIGINAL micky mouse club, the old disney 60s and 70s movies, and so on!

I know what you mean. I was a fan of "Ozzie & Harriet", 2 back to back episodes every night @ 11:00 during the summer. I was also a big Haley Mills fan. LOVED "The Parent Trap". I don't care how many times they remake it, this one is hands down the best one. "Pollyanna" was another good one (the "glad" game, lol). I also loved "Summer Magic" with Burl Ives. Back then, we had VCRs and I had all 3 of these movies recorded (on one tape! lol) and I swear, I would watch them every day.

So, to agree with you....I miss these movies too.

reply

lol I had no idea there were others who felt the same about these movies! Even though I'm 18 now I was like 8 or 9 and I remember all those movies mentioned being on Disney and I loved every on of 'em. This movie is on right now. When I saw it while flipping channels I actually dropped the remote and was like, "HOLY *beep* I LOVE THIS MOVIE"

this board was alote buzzier than i thought it would be, i think i came across this quite some years ago, but of what i saw recently don't remember anything about it, and not that craig t. nelson was in it either. so i figure the plan here was to match two stars from current sit-coms in the 80's and draw an audience that way.
look, from a distant that looks like kathy griffin on the cover there.

sun shines on the floor,
in a room of time of old,
everyone went away,
and i have noone to talk about yesterday,
couse the people here don't know,
they don't share same history on the floor,
noone here anymore,
to update me on questions about before,
and we can't talk and ask,
couse you werent in the past,
so i'm all alone,
with a history of my own,
and my people, they all have left,
as i sit here by myself.

I TOTALLY AGREE!! What about "She's out of Control" with Tony Danza. That was great!

Super, super, super old thread and I actually posted towards the beginning of it years ago LOL but wanted to comment again. Now since every generation probably says the current generations tv SUCKS, my thoughts on it could just be that the stuff on there these days is just NOT aimed at me, a nearly 32 year old woman. That being said, I think it's sad that the qualities of the shows are dummed down and they just keep pumping out a different "brand" of new popular girl everytime a show reaches a certain amount of episodes and has to be cancelled. That Victorious show I heard was being cancelled. I'm not sure if it's true, but if it is, you can be sure that the guy from "Head Of The Class" that helps pop out all these stars is already creating another cookie cutter show. Money money money. The channels just seem to play the same three shows over and over again.

Nope, it's not a Disney Channel film, but I remember catching it on Disney Channel a lot, when I was 4-6 years old (I'm a 90's baby, so I wasn't born yet when this film first came out). I just watched it again, not too long ago, and I still love it.
