Cuz, the little girl's freak out seems a little out of proportion for 7.50, I mean, i have been that broke but seems a bit much.

I was think 7.50 was cheap for 36 patchs too. Cub Scout patches and belt loops are so expensive now.
shareWell with inflation $7.50 in 1988 is worth about $15 now. That being said her dad had been out of work and they were probably living pay check to paycheck. I would also assume it can be a little frustrating to a kid to see that her friends get to have everything, while she's eating out of Campbell's soup cans.
