Re-Make? Yup!

Today I was just "google"-ing some things and stumbled upon some information to us "Top That" fans that was exciting and scary all at the same time.

Turns out they plan to remake Teen Witch casting Ashley Tisdale as Louise.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time and I'm not sure how I feel about this. Check it out:

Oh Lord, Ashley Tisdale, really? Why does the 80s cheesiness of this of this movie need to be ruined by this talentless girl that one tweeny boppers like. I am not against the people that Disney cultivates, but Ashley Tisdale is really one of the worst actresses and singers I have ever known.

WHAT?! Why must Hollywood remake everything?!

NO! WHY DOES HOLLYWOOD RUIN FINE MOVIES?!

PS - Good point, Blake should be cast ;)

reply

Not that I condone the remaking of this awesome movie and not that I at all like the following actress, but wouldn't it be weird/interesting/funny/etc. to cast Blake Lively, Robyn's youngest sister, as Louise? Just a thought...

reply

Why Hollywood, why?!? The original was good enough. Ashley as Louise...*head-desk*

Ugh. Remember when Disney actually showcased DIFFERENT actors/actresses? And they had talent?

I can't stand Ashley Tisdale. She can't act for peanuts! It would be interesting to see Blake Lively in the role, although she might be a bit too old. Heck, Demi Lovato annoys me and even she'd be better than Tisdale. Is it definite that Ashley will be cast? I can't understand why Disney keep doing this, why can't they find some new kids

I'm not a big fan of Lively either, so I don't think that would be too much better. Then again, if her sister was in it I could maybe see why they would. Anyway you know they only picked Tisdale b/c of HSM and they needed someone they could sell to little girls who sings, if that's what you want to call what she does. Gosh, my ears are bleeding already. How can anyone stand her singing voice?

My problem is, I don't get the point. What is the point of Disney remaking this? Teen Witch just fit in the 80s. Even if it wasn't the greatest it just made sense for it's time period. Yoday's target audience is just too damn fickle. You know they're just going to screw up the plot, and do what the eff they want to do anyway. Why not just rip Teen Witch off, give it a new title, and deny its affliation with the original (like Hollywood used to do before the remake craze) b/c we already know they're going to asscrew it beyond recognition. Are they trying to bring in some of the older fans of Teen Witch by calling it Teen Witch and ruining the premise?

I'm not completely against remakes but this influx of 80s movies bejng remade for NO apparent reason is nauseating. Red Dawn, The Last Dragon, Fame, Weird Science, Footloose, Karate Kid, hell even IT is being remade and that was the 90s. I'm not set against all 80s remakes I just for the most part find them absolutely pointless. There are no characters on tv like in Teen Witch or any of these 80s movies, they just don't exist in this world.

But why in the world does every flipping remake have to have blondes?! What's wrong hollywood-run out of burnettes?! Can't wait to see what they're going to do to labyrinth, greedy bastards. That right there is the root behind all these remakes-hollywood is out of ideas for movies but since their used to having so much money, they just decided to remake everything they can sink their fangs into-I mean really I'm just dying to see the next king kong remake!

Jus cuz I have one, two, maybe two drinks sometime, what I'ma AL-ka-holic now?

reply

So true. They're really not as rare as people make them out to be. Not all of them are special. By the way I'm not ragging on blondes, it's just everyone is one these days.

I guess we have to get used to these silly remakes, but no one said we have to go down quietly!

Sheesh! They're churning them out aren't they? Man it makes me feel old. You're about the same age as my older sister. It seems it doesn't matter if you're under 30 anymore, even 20 is old now!
