How come she never reconciles with her friend?

She just forgets about Polly.

reply

Just finished watching the movie and I was kind of disappointed we never saw a reconciliation either. I think it's safe to say, though, that they did become friends again. It looks like Louise gives up her power (or whatever that giving away of the necklace was meant to symbolize) and so her popularity is gone and she goes back to her "normal" life.. with the exception that she does get the guy (and so does Polly).

reply

Because Polly was a LOSER. A trash act, not a class act. No class, poor, ugly clothes, big nose, bad hair, need I go on?

When you have shoulder pads like Louise Miller had, no WAY would you associate with the likes of Polly in her gross baby poop green trench coats.

reply

It's because Louise is self centred which I found to be quite strange. She wasn't the cliche geeky girl who becomes popular. She was already semi-popular but not popular enough, she was average and only cared about her self.

Go Ahead! Make my day!

Why did Louise never reconcile with her friend? Simple, because that would mean that the writers thought about what they were doing, or actually gave half a damn.

"Why do you say this to me when you know I will kill you for it?"

how about the unresolved situation with Randa???
she turns into Louise's friend with the popularity spell... but we never see any fallout from brad and her breaking up... then at the dance he just ABANDONS her to dance and make out louise even though randa was just talking about plans for college?

we never see a reaction... its just... over.

sooo many plotholes in this one [no one noticed the cousin is gone either?]

and it seems that the first half of the movie wanted to be a musical... reminded me of Earth Girls are Easy... but then they just gave up half way. lol. fabulous movie.

LOL, yeah the "I Like Boys" song in the locker room makes me want to hurt something or someone.

I love the "Top That" rap though... Pure cheese at its finest.

About Randa, I would say that the spell caused her to think it was cool to invite Louise into her life and share everything with her, including Brad. The spell blinded her to what was really happening between Brad and Louise.

Polly was the only one not effected by the spell, because she already accepted Louise for who she was, and Louise had to learn to appreciate that all over again.

That seems to be a big complaint, but in reality, Louise never really completely dumped Polly. She got a bit big-headed, but she still tried to stay close to Polly in the midst of her new popularity. Remember, Louise was the one who said she missed her best friend.

EXCUSE ME! EXCUSE ME! Sweetie, u need to get your facts straight. How many times did Louise reach out to Polly only for Polly to be a total bitch and use it against Louise. She still sat with Polly at Lunch and on the football field Louise RAN to Polly and wanted to make things right and spend time with Polly. SO DONT EVEN GO THERE about Louise not reconciling with Polly. Louise obviously made the effort while the troll Polly was so built up with intense jealousy that she couldnt see that.

DONT GO THERE!

I know I'm responding a couple years late on this one, but Polly did become really angry and jealous over Louise's popularity, even though Louise tried and tried to reignite their friendship. And she was just plain nasty when she asked Louise, "What did you do, trip her," after Kiki broke her leg. I don't think they ever became friends again, but because of Louise, Polly ended up with Rhett, which perhaps made her less bitter (one would hope).
