Worst scene in the history of Star Trek...

That idiotic campfire scene. 'Row, Row, Row your boat...' I even cringed when I saw this in the theater and that was at the height of my being a Trekkie...

reply

aw, the row, row, row your boat scene was one of my most memorable original crew scenes.

If this movie didn't already have lots of filler material in it, I could have handled this scene better. Alas, it was pretty short on story.

Now had Spock broken out with a rendition of "I Hate You" on the Vulcan Harp, that might have been epic.

"Lovey-dovey. Bonk bonk on the head!"

reply

I never had a problem with it, I thought the scene with Uhura dancing was much worse.

This. Even if she were 20 years younger it still would've been a stupid scene.

DISPLAY thy breasts, my Julia!

reply

I think it's one of the best scenes.

I know everything about film. I've seen over 240 of them.

I agree. People should never sing "Row, Row, Row your boat". Its the demon song. If you sing that song. The Devil will take your soul as payment. You will live forever in hell. God Save your soul. You wretched creature.

P.S. That scene was nothing compared to uhura fan dance.

reply

But it's Shatner's best bit! He actually sings for once!

reply

OP you obviously never watched Insurrection or Nemesis then as they both contain far worse moments the campfire singing is actually endearing, as it shows Kirk\Spock\McCoy in a different light having some personal downtime & banter on Earth something which was never ever shown in the TOS episodes or other movies.

reply

It was bad but Uhura's fan dancing is worse.
