Worst scene in the history of Star Trek...

That idiotic campfire scene. 'Row, Row, Row your boat...' I even cringed when I saw this in the theater and that was at the height of my being a Trekkie...

reply

Yep, it was pretty cringe-worthy, all right.

I saw the Row Row Row Your Boat scene on Siskel & Ebert At the Movies first, before seeing it in theaters.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

I liked the scene.

That scene is excellent....it shows their bond as friends. It is a strong scene.

Thanks! Can't believe all the hate on here. People love to hate Shatner, and yet, they love Kirk. WOWZERS.

reply

Yeah, it's a funny, and, even endearing moment between these three old friends. I can sure think of a few cringe-worthy scenes in this movie, but Shatner got that one right.

Me too, I adore the scene. Gives me goosebumps there's so much love in the air between three old hombre's. Spock is great in the camping scenes, he's so out of his comfort zone. "Are we having a good time?" "I preferred him before he died!"

I agree that scene is cringe worthy, but so were both rocket boots scenes and the reveal that Spock was the gunner who killed "god". And when the one Klingon make the Klingon say he's sorry.

reply

Yeah, that campfire scene SUCKS. So does the scene right before it with Chekov blowing into the communicator....shoooosh vind and vrain.....fooooosh.

reply

I'd forgotten about that one! I think over time, I forget just how awful this movie is.

I just noticed that on Siskel & Ebert, Ebert called it the silliest scene in the history of Star Trek.

reply

Yeah but can you take someone who wrote "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" seriously.

reply

At least william Shatner was singing properly, as opposed to his usual "style"

reply

Too bad there wasn't an outtake of THAT!

"Live long and suck it, Zachary Quinto!"
