Over-dubbed dialogue..

Was just watching this with my mum (awww) and I noticed a lot of the dialogue is over-dubbed... pretty badly in places, like in the restaurant scene where Shirley rants about the English.. and it always seems to be the same character, but i forget his name to be honest (bald guy, kind of fat..the guy who was ranting about Greece on the table behind). I was just wondering if there was a reason for this or a story behind it, or did the guy just have too much of an annoying voice to keep it in?

I think it was dubbed for American audiences the I think the woman is saying MFI but has been dubbed to Kmart (which is stupid as there was no Kmart in the UK)

They also dubbed Cortina to Escort in the clitoris scene
