Injecting Church (spoilers)

Did anyone else get a little disturbed by this scene? It was obvious to me that they used a real cat (with the actor picking him up and injecting him with "something") right up to the part that he "dies", but the dead cat they use at the end is markedly more realistic than the dead cat they use when church dies earlier in the film.

It's shockingly realistic actually, in my mind unfortunately undone in the following scene in which a 2-year-old nearly overpowers an adult. For me the cat-kill was the most memorable part of the film.

It may or may not have been a real cat at first, but it didn't look like a real cat that he 'injected'.
But regardless, Louis did not inject anything, it was a prop needle. I've seen them in behind-the-scenes of horror or medical films. They are tipless retractable syringes.

Yeah this was also going through my head, looked way too real O_o Maybe they used a cat that already needed lethal injection lol.

If it was real maybe they just gave him a strong sedative or some kitty anesthesia.
