Louis & Rachel were both as$%holes
I can't help but notice how volatile, confrontational and unlikable they are. Not only is it in their dialogue, its directed that way through their reaction shots. Rachel is belligerent towards Jud, Louis gets nasty with Rachel over the cat, Louis barks at the nurse and gets in the housekeeper's face. Then there's the confrontations with the father in law that descents into the downright comical at the funeral. Granted, these things do happen in heated emotional moments but it happens so often in the course of the film it just makes me dislike them so. Why did they choose to produce this like a strange melodrama?
