Get a fence! I know it wouldn't have helped that much in regards to a cat but if I had young children and lived right next to a road like that, one of the first things I would do is get a secure fence built around my property.

Or maybe do a little research before buying a home on a dangerous highway!

They did build a fence, but when Gage went in to the road, they were having a picnic on Juds land. And there were no fence on his property.
