He could have stopped the demon from the burial ground (as hallucination Zelda?Gage's body) from killing her. Or stopped Rachel from going inside of Jud's house to be killed by the Wendigo.

Right. It seems rather plot-convenient that her guardian could hold airplane doors for her and so on, but suddenly had to bail when she could have used a little nudge to turn her towards home instead of over to Jud's. After all, Ghostly Pasgow had visited Louis's house before--it wasn't off-limits for him.
I did really like Pasgow, though!
No, he couldn't. He was a sort of guide but he could not get close to that evil. He could not cross the barrier to the Micmac burial grounds and when Rachel was getting out of the truck Gage was already back so Pascow had to keep his distance.
