The only movie that disturbs me

I've seen it once and that's it. I know it's only a movie and that the boy and the cat weren't killed, but there's still something profoundly creepy and disturbing about it.

Read the book. Immensely more disturbing (and cool!) :)

Just what I wanted to read. I just finished reading IT for the first time and now I'm reading this. I started it last October but never finished so I'm starting over. I'm hoping it's scarier than the movie.

The book has a few extra elements that is more frightening.

I saw the movie YEARS before I read the book. I was staying at my uncle & aunt's house over Xmas, and there was a copy in the room, so I read it over a series of nights.

Later on, I discussed the book with my uncle, and he said that, for him, the most frightening part of the book was when the protagonist was carrying Gage through the swamp, and something just off to the side was keeping pace with him.

Looking back and re-reading, allowing myself to get lost in the book and be scared by it, he was right. THAT was the scariest section.

I agree. The trips to the Micmac burial ground were the best parts of the book. They were so amazingly detailed and vivid while being dreamlike at the same time.

I would say this and a few other films are the only ones that still hold a place with me when it comes to actually scaring me and having nightmares.

I've seen hundred of horror films, and this one still holds up today with me. The others are the French films "Inside" and "Martyrs". Also "Suspiria" has a perfect tone for horror.

It doesn't scare me. I do find it extremely disturbing. It's sad and a bit haunting. I love many stories by Stephen King. This is my least favorite.
