Whatever happened to Elliot Spiers?

I first saw "Paperhouse" when it was released in 1988 on VHS. I was 7 then, and as I grew up I remembered that I was fond of the young actor that played Marc. Well, I am now going on 21 and I still am. Luckily, I have a copy of "Paperhouse" on VHS and a copy of "Jim Henson's The Storyteller" that Spiers starred in around the same time. In 1996, he made a Belgian film called "Taxandria," but I have yet to find a copy of this for rent anywhere. So, my main question is what happened to this extremely talented and handsome young actor? There are no fan sites or anything that mention what he is up to today or that have a recent picture. I am extremely curious if he grew up to be as handsome as I imagined that he would. With the level of talent that he had, it is a shame that he didn't go any further with his acting career. Does anyone know what become of him or have a more recent picture? (Even a picture from 1996's "Taxandria" would be appreciated.) It seems that he just fell of the face of the earth. I would like to persue my search further because I find it odd that there is virtually nothing about this young man online, except for his filmography.
