obsession?

anyone else totally obsessed with this movie??
i first saw it yrs ago as a kid and loved it! my mother worked at a movie rental place and always brought it home for me. well, a year or so later it had gotten rented out and destroyed. and they couldn't get their hands on another copy. ever since then, this movie would creep up on me, making me always think about it and miss it soo much.
to my suprise, over the summer i took a joy ride to chicago and found a vhs copy while thrift store hopping. i literally screamed and ran to the counter, paid and still looked around more. but the sheer excitement of finding this movie, i had to buy right away. fear that i'd lose it freaked me out. now i STILL watch it ALL the time.
this really needs to be on dvd!!! the fact is that movies just are not made like this one anymore and its very depressing.
and what about the book it based on? does anyone think its worth the buy? i think i'll buy it anyway tho..

I think I might be. I saw it when I was little and thought about it over the years, but never could remember the name. I don't even think I knew it the one time I saw it. Here I am at 24 and I posted a question on Yahoo answers and finally got the name. I'm kinda scared to watch it again though...but I think I have to.

It's haunting, it did to me then what Donnie Darko did to me as an adult.

I'm not obsessed with it but for a long time it was on my top ten favorite movies list. I saw it when I was about 16 or 17 I think, and have a copy on VHS. I always loved it because I love the idea of being able to draw a dream and then go into it, even if it didn't always come out right. I wish there were more dream scenes. The house was super cool, too. Just all weird and wonky and like in the book. Now the BOOK scared me about 1000 times more than the film. The father in the film was super creepy for sure, the way his voice was so dark and menacing and that hammer and all. And of course Marc drove me nuts because he couldn't walk so I worried about him terribly. I thought the dad broke his neck in that one scene. It was just so horrifying. The book though with those stones, man did that freak me out big time. And I was an ADULT when I read it, too. Catherine Storr did a great job on making stones into villains. Just the idea of them now is pretty scary. Stones that murmur and chase you, good God how creepy.

One of the best shots in Paperhouse is when Marc finally rescues Anna from her dad. I love the look on his face! It's like, "Take THAT! Taste some HAMMER!" hahah Great shot!

The music is really nice in Paperhouse, too. Sanctus still brings back memories of Paperhouse, it's so beautiful and serene.

There is only light, my light, my naked light, my gift to you all. Experience my bliss.

I just watched this movie for the first time, since I had heard good things about it from others. I really enjoyed it, and I ordered the book, too.

I can't be obsessed by it because I'm already obsessed with something else, but I did like it. Psycological horror is my favorite kind, and Charlotte Burke did an amazing job.
