Have you seen the movie recently?
I'm almost positive the answer is 'no', but is that screaming doll scream in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tbKb1Lf-0g&feature=player_detailpa ge#t=32s in the real part 5?

shareThat is the French dubbed version so it's prolly something to do with how they dubbed the voices.
Just because we lose today's battle doesn't mean we've lost tommorow's war.
yes, I saw it recently.
I love classic monsters.
I did too, and I must say, I wasn't impressed.
As a kid, Nightmare 5 had always struck me as occupying a qualitative middle ground between the go-for-broke fun of part 4 and the all but fun-free part 6.
I liked it, but were it not for my Freddy fascination, I think once would've been more than enough.
Last night I found myself admiring the germ of an idea at the film's core, but the script reduces Alice to a shrill harpy, Freddy doesn't have much to do, and story is pretty...inert?
The execution is fine, I guess, but we get Freddy the joker existing in the middle of this supposedly "darker", "closer to the original spirit" type of film.
Come to think of it, I may actually prefer Freddy's Dead, making 5 the lowest point in the series for me. It's not fun, it's not scary...it just methodically plods from one death to another. And the deaths hardly seem worth it (though Mark's was good).
How anyone could prefer it to the truly frightening and comparatively original part 2 is beyond me.
Well part 2 was scary in the traditional sense of SCARY, part 5 was scary in the sense it was disturbing. In all I think I'd rather be killed by the Freddy of part 2, it would be painful but be over pretty fast.
The Freddy in part 5 torments the hell out of you first, that's what makes this movie so scary to me, I put myself in the victims' shoes.
Create a society in which you would like to live, not knowing what you're going to come into it as.
I watched it last night, I think it is a pretty good movie, I know a lot of people don't like it, but I find it to be very entertaining, one of my favorites in the series, always has been.
shareMine too!! Ppl who hate on it so much need to get over it! not every single horror movie has to be the same ol dark grizzly, type with absolutly no levity.
Englund even said if an audience gets too inondated with horror it becomes tedius, and the comical reliefs are good b/c they let the audience lose the tension a few seconds then build them up for a 2nd scare.
I know Englund has always defended part 5.

People hate it because it is inferior to all that came before. only 3 deaths (there were TWICE as many in part 4!!) and a weak story-and VERY bad effects...
