I really had fun with The Dream Master, but I thought bringing back Alice was just too fast and really hurt the film.
We just saw her defeat Freddy, now it's like "okay..Defeat him again".
I didn't really care for Freddy's Dead but I did like the new character cycle.

I disagree. Everyone who faced Freddy up to that point twice, including Dan in the same film, had died. Bringing Alice back and having her live was refreshing and broke the cycle. My only complaint is that she wasn't as badass as she was in 4.

As I heard it said, I think Alice was more cocky in this film than in 4, she was almost like roadrunner and Freddy like Cayote lol

Well that's because Rachel Talalay RUINED Freddy's Dead. She had no damn business being a director she stated out in finance I believe. The original idea of Freddy's Dead was supposed to be about Alice's son Jacob, and some character from previous films were supposed to be the "dream police" to protect him, Talaly hated this idea but went with the crap that is Freddy's dead

Well i mean what can you do? Wes Craven was bound and determined to end the series. He didnt want any sequels and only did part 3 in an attempt to end the series. So part 4 and 5 are held down by rules Craven implemented to end the series. Once New Line is finally like "Screw Craven we will do what we want" the only film we got was "Freddy's Dead" which imo is what the series should have been years before
