In Defense of A Nightmare on Elm Street 5:The Dream Child.

After A Nightmare on Elm Street 2:Freddy's Revenge the franchise had two successful films in the different fields with the great A Nightmare on Elm Street 3:The Dream Warriors being a critical success and the awesome A Nightmare on Elm Street 4:The Dream Master being a finical success so that inevitably lead to a fifth films creations.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 5:The Dream Child just like the four films that came before it is a terrific film I say it's better than A Nightmare on Elm Street 3:The Dream Warriors but isn't as good as A Nightmare on Elm Street(84),A Nightmare on Elm Street 2:Freddy's Revenge & A Nightmare on Elm Street 4:The Dream Master.
Most fans criticize this film for being more comedic than the previous installments in the franchise but I personally disagree with that their was humor in the original it isn't as present as the later film but if you look closer it's still present,Part 2 is the only one that's humorless of the films that was pre this film,Part 3 was a sign of more comedy to come, & Part 4 was plan comedy but each of those films still remained great Horror films with a comedy zest of them.
Part 5's comedy is fun and doesn't hurt the film at all.Freddy Krueger's just having the time of his life and it fits the character unlike the overrated Jason Lives:Friday the 13th Part VI where the comedy felt unnatural to the actual film and effected the rest of the series.Elm Street 5 was a natural progression of that aspect to the series.
I like how this film continued the plot of Part 4 in a mature manner dealing with deeper themes than most Horror films would deal with let alone a fourth sequel.
The film also has terrific atmosphere very gothic and unique.
The film is a true arestment to wonderful sequels the world round.
