Freddys extra long gimpy arm
Anyone have any idea why in the scene where Freddy comes back he has an extra long gimpy weird arm?

shareI've wondered that, he also has a skeletal hand with LONG LONG fingers.
The only thing I can think of is b/c he grew back into his body so fast that he was kinda distorted, that and it being a DREAM and all.
If you notice he has the big skeletal hand UNTIL he kills Dan, those fingers come out of Dans radio, then when Freddy is sitting beside Dan the long fingers are STILL sticking out of the radio, so it's like he SHEDDED his deformed hand.
Just because we lose today's battle doesn't mean we've lost tommorow's war.
It's because the inmates ripped off his arm and he tied it back together with the sweater.
No, I THINK the op is talking about at the beginning of the movie when he is first ressurected, his right arm is left arm is REALLY long and has really long fingers.

I always imagined it was a nod towards the alley scene in the original. I never noticed anything skeletal about it though (until he kills Dan?) Maybe it's something else entirely. I'll have to watch it again.
shareMy theory is it's b/c he GREW so fast it left him distorted, for a while until he sheds his hand in Dan's truck.
Also when he is "blown" off the podium his feet look skeletal as well. Or to ME any way.

That's what I thought! I thought it was a nod to the first Elm Street seeing Freddy for the first time.

Because he is using an unborn soul as a conduit maybe one hand was longer than the other because he was unformed?
"I think I liked it better when I thought Sylar ate brains."
That's what I think too. His whole body was distorted.
His left hand was HUGE and skeletal.
Create a society in which you would like to live, not knowing what you're going to come into it as.

According to the makeup designs for 5, the extra-long arm is supposed to show that Freddy's body hadn't grown back properly. He went from baby to a more "teenage" form. You know how a teenager's body is awkward and gangly? That's what this was supposed to be. He hadn't fully-formed into grown Freddy. They even called the design "Teen Freddy."
He still looks like normal Freddy with a jacked-up left hand though.
Freddy left his deformed arm in Dan's truck, even when Freddy is in the passenger seat, the "tree branch" looking hand is still sticking out of the radio.
