I realize the yuppie neighbors are the good guys. Clark, while generally good-natured, is very condescending to some people. Especially Eddie, and that delivery guy, just off the top of my head. I know it is part of the comedy, and Clark is a good-natured family man, but I can see how those yuppie neighbors are not exactly in the wrong. Though they are snobbish, they mind their own business, and it's Clark who instigates all of the "animosity".
shareI never really thought about that. But now that you mention it, you're right. He is very condescending to everyone. But he probably gets it from his boss. The yuppie neighbors are annoying in their own right but they don't ever start anything with Clark.
shareRight. Yes I can see it trickling down from his boss. He even pokes fun at Aunt Bethany several times. Though never directly to her. More like to himself, under his breath. I know it's part of the comedy though. And at the beginning, those neighbors were poking fun at him about where to put his tree, so they're not exactly off the hook either haha
shareYea and he definitely has a reason to poke the fun he does. I mean he is surrounded by idiots and rude people. He fits right in. I just never noticed how he is so condescending. Still, one of my all time favs.

I liked the part where he suggested putting a Christmas tree up JLD's ass. Kind of an ironic joke when you consider she's jewish.

They're not bad guys and they aren't good guys (plot wise) - they are the obnoxious type who yell at anyone who gets on their lawn, so when they catch the friendly fire flak from Clark's machinations, it's funny to watch.
