Christy Brown

Other than watching this movie a few days ago I didn't know much about Mr Brown. How much of this movie is true? Has any one read his book(s)? There are other books @amozon.com and the author's name is the same;thats why I asked. Is Mr Brown still living?

Hi,
like you I was impressed by the story, the character and the actor. I went to search on Google and here are some sites which tend to prove that Christy Brown is for real.

Thanks. I just finished reading "My Left Foot" today. After I read it I realised that it must have been a tremedous task for him to type out every word slowly with his left foot. It must have been frustrating at times, too for Christy to put down what was in his mind on paper.

No, he's not still living - he died in 1981. His grave can be visited at Glasnevin in Dublin.
