'My Left Foot' filming locations

Hello, everyone! Does anyone know where the neighborhood scenes where the Brown family lived were filmed in the movie, as well as the locale of the country manor where Lord Castlewelland lived? According to information listed in the end credits of "MLF", the film was shot on location in the city of Dublin, including Wicklow & Ardmore Counties. Also, the Browns' neighborhood looks a lot like a public housing project. If anyone has information about the above inquiry, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I am from ireland and most of the inside scenes were filmed in ardmore studios in Bray county wicklow. As for the scenes that show the beautiful country sude etc they normally use Powerscourt Gardens and nearby wicklow mountains, Sally gap, Howth head. I have not watched this fantastic film for many years and if i come across it i will tell you more that i reconise. The liberties in dublin was just like the brownes but alas that is all but gone due to new development. Many films are shot near my home but so much money is used to change the scenery and you would not reconise anything. The boxer, some mothers son, murphys law, The irish film board might help you further.

He was born and raised in Crumlin, around Stanaway Road I believe. A lot of the houses still look like they do in the movie. They're cleaner and neater now, obviously but they still retain the general design features of working class houses they were designed to be.

The only location I know for certain is the scenes in the pub were shot at Mulligans, on Poolebeg Street in Dublin city centre. As a point, its a fantastic traditional Dublin pub, and in my opinion, serves the best Guinness in Ireland.

Old thread, but why not sure!

The final scene with Christy and the girl on the hill looking down at, and 'drinking to' Dublin was filmed on Killiny Hill in South County Dublin. If my memory serves me well a scene in 'Once', a superb Indie Irish film, to those who haven't seen it, was shot there too. It's a really beautiful spot by the way, as you can gather from the film.
