who has the better performance? Daniel Day Lewis or Geffory Rush, they both play mentally disabled charcters and both performances are riverting, who is your pick?
i haven't seen my left foot, but i have seen shine and the performance in that is pretty damm good, only people have always been talking up daniel day's performance in my left foot

There are a lot of similar aspects between the two films. They're both amazing, with two great lead performances in them. It's hard to choose between the two, because they were both perfect and deserved their Oscars, however I may have to give the edge to Daniel Day Lewis. He's in his film a lot more, and his part was much more challenging I believe. It'd probably have to be him.
Shine's ultimately the better picture though.

He cannot move except his left foot. He was disabled but his head was okay.

I'd forgotten how good a film Shine was till I saw this post :-)

Daniel Day-Lewis by far, he was perfect, Geoffrey Rush wasn't that good and Shine is a much worse film than My Left Foot
