8/10 movie. But here are my gripes about it.
1. The old ladies shaming Christy for no reason when his mother fell down the stairs felt very one-dimensional.
2. The bar fight scene. That was a big '*beep* you' to the viewer. Not happy with that at all.
3. Christy womanizing that last lady. This was without a doubt the most dislikeable part of the film. Here I have a character I've emotionally invested in for the better part of the whole thing out of the blue on his knees for this woman I know nothing about except for a few insignificant snippets scattered. Felt like a blow to the stomach, really.
Other than this, I commend this movie for being engaging throughout. It was never boring and all performances were at least satisfactory.
