Probably, maybe they will one day. But with remakes they like to change too much so it would probably come off as an entirely different movie.

I don't know about 'much, much better', as I have a soft spot for Millennium, and think it's a great b-movie, given its budget, and it does it a disservice to be too critical with it not being a mega-budget scifi. Having said that, yes, I think it would be great to see a remake with a big budget and modern effects.
