It's completely predictable, but when the music comes in after everyone starts cheering, I tear up a little bit every time.
shareI've seen this movie a few times as a very young kid, I couldn't remember it at all. So i decided to watch it on blu-ray today.. It is a very good ending for the entire film.

I always thought Taylor "fake" calling his shot was a little on the cheesy side.......but other than that minor quibble, the game scene is well-done and it gives the film credibility as a result.
I think it's essentially about a group of guys getting a 2nd chance, and they learn to put the team ahead of their personal issues........the slow motion scene of Taylor gritting to 1st base is highly memorable.
