In a Bing article, she stated she resonated with the character when she married the prince and lost her voice. She also mentioned feeling embarrassed about being an adult watching the film. No offense to her, but that is silly in some ways. I still love cartoons from my childhood. I recently bought towels with Snoopy and Woodstock on them. Some things you never outgrow. I wish the Sussexes and everyone in the royal family peace and healing.
shareI am not a follower of the royal family except in a sense that I am their age so 'grew up' watching Harry and William grow up. I really have no hatred for Meghan but I also don't like the drama I feel she has caused. I find her analogy of her and Ariel a little ridiculous as Ariel FOUND her voice when she married Eric. I just feel an adult woman (yes, she's in her 30s so wasn't a dumb teenager when meeting Harry) and she should have and would have known what would be expected of her if she married a prince. She didn't read up? Didn't pay attention to their own mother's tragic story? completely went into a marriage knowing NOTHING of royal life? Sorry, I don't buy that. I can't say what she has lived thru so I won't say 'I don't believe her'. I just find her supposed ignorance a little much.
And I am a 39 year old and still watch my Disney movies. Many Disney fans know that those films are more than just movies for kids. they are family movies with something for everyone and they are moments of timeless art and culture and don't forget the nostalgia.
I agree with you to some extent. They were engaged for a year, therefore I am sure she was instructed regarding royal life. Maybe the protocol and rules were too oppressive , regarding her free spirited upbringing. I read the book Meghan in 2018, by the same author who wrote about Diana. I heard her dad's family (some of them I guess), were very rude to she and her mom as a child. In addition to attitudes from her classmates in school. I also read she had challenges getting roles. Not to mention, the derogatory things stated in the UK press. Although I am sure pleasant stuff was printed as well. She also mentioned the royals are cold and don't hug. But that is nothing new, that's probably the way they are. I am guessing most of the family liked her, or did before the controversial interview.
Plus her relationship with her her paternal side of the family is in the gutter. She sister Samantha is one piece of work! I am guessing she wanted a warm bond with the Royal but it did not happen. There is hurt and distrust on both sides. I bet Diana in heaven is heart broken as well. I hope Prince Phillip is doing well.
