timothy dalton = my favourite bond and this movie is great

i grew up in the moore era and i've watched all the bond movies but dalton is awesome as james bond and this movie is an example of how great he is. bond like we've never seen him before. wish he could have played bond for a decade more

Who is the better Bond? A question and debate that fans have argued for over 40 years, and for me its a tie between Dalton and Craig. Skyfall and Casino Royale maybe my favorite Bond films, but The Living Daylights and License to Kill are next (followed by OHMSS) Dalton was a shock to system and because he was so radical, he confused many fans and he became hated by some. Quite frankly Dalton was way ahead of his time, but I'm glad he came along and did two brilliant films before the mediocrity of the Brosnan era dawned upon us.

yeah i like all the bonds but dalton hardly gets any recognition as one of the great ones. he played it serious but i guess most people like bond to be comedic. now people give craig all the credit for being the first 'serious' bond but they don't mention dalton did it first. daltons 2 movies are 2 of my favorite.

Timothy Dalton's Bond *is* Bond. Simple as that. Beat for beat Ian Fleming's character.

Sadly many people don't read ...

yeah. its nice to people on this board like him

Imagine, no invisible cars and no world wars started for cable ratings.

Ah such a fantasy. But it sadly happened, so much so that after Brosnan's last film I left the screening room and demanded my money back. I've always like the relaistic tougher edge Bonds, but I always had a special place in my heart for the fantastical ones like The Spy Who Loved Me, but Brosnan's last film just went way too far and made it into a abomination.

I also loved Dalton's take as Bond.

Daniel Craig is perhaps the most realistic take on a modern day MI6, but his Bond is more assassin than spy.

Dalton's was more spy.

I grew up with Roger Moore, and I still think his For Your Eyes Only is probably my favorite Bond movie. But after more than a decade of gadgets and gags, it was great to see Dalton's more serious take on the character.

I actually like Pierce Brosnan and think GoldenEye is one of the best Bond movies. I also really like Tomorrow Never Dies.

Yes, after that, it got ugly.
