M

don't get me wrong I really Timothy Dalton's two bond films. but one thing I don't really care in them and I guess Roger Moore's last two films was Robert Brown as M.

I just felt like he had NO personality and seemed to dislike Bond for the most part. he wasn't particularly likeable unlike Bernard Lee and Judi Dench, in license to Kill he came off as kind of a jerk

anybody else feel this way?

Watching it now and I see where you are coming from... But Bond was pissed off in the heat of the moment for what happened to his friend and new Wife. He was thirtsy for revenge.

One who had plenty of personality was Caroline Bliss's Moneypenny. It's kind of a pity she only lasted the Dalton films like Robert Brown. I like the way she contacts Q under the radar to aid 007.

I didn't notice it so much in The Living Daylights. In this movie, he WAS pretty pissed at Bond. Since he started off with "you were supposed to be in Istanbul two days ago!" I just assumed that some operation went seriously up the creek without a paddle on account of Bond not showing up when he was supposed to.

Which would fit the theme of the rest of the movie, as Bond's revenge spree blows at least two operations against Sanchez.

M was a complete out of line boss in this one i liked how female M understood Bond better. In this felid he sends out people at him like a dog with no care a man was nearly disabled a woman lost her life and M also forgot what it was like to lose a friend. M is the villain in this one he did not have the hear to feel Binds pain nothing. If your a Boss of a government care for your agents. At the end M asked bind to come back why should he go back since his own boss betrays him nearly kills him he should have said "No M how should i forgive you" M's heart was as cold as the those guys. So why should he accept M's offer it could have been a trick just to kill him or worse. Bond's life has been a up and down life he lost his parents he had no normal life people has tried killing him why should one man take so much pain. Flies was two only friend that understood Bond was doing like a favor Flex knew you know who would die by bond.So why trust 1989 M 1995 M was a better and in GoldenEye they test Bond's loyalty come on that was in the past forget and forgive. So think about it M was a jerk and he should have had a better heart at caring for Bond.

Care for your agents? You guys have no idea what you're talking about. This isn't a fraternity, it's British Military Intelligence, they send men to their deaths on a weekly basis. 1989 M was the standard stiff upper lip British Officer. A no-nonsense man who's job was to keep the world safe from the bad guys. Bond was nothing more than a number to him, a resource, expendable if needs be which is why agents are given cyanide capsules in case of capture. There's no way somebody with 1995 M's empathetic disposition would land such a job.

There's a moral to this story Del Boy but for the life of me I can't find it!

all i mean is the female "M" was more better this guy was a jerk.

And all I'm saying is that in the real world jerks get the job done. You don't befriend people you send out to die. The female M was too soft.
