I really like the movie, but Talisa Soto is horrendous

Is it just me or is Talisa Soto absolutely awful in LTK? She's very pretty to look at, but every line reading she gives sounds extremely flat and unconvincing. It's like she's just reading off cue cards. What makes it even worse is how much better the other actors are. Timothy Dalton, Robert Davi, Carey Lowell, Desmond Llewelyn, they all blow her right off the screen. Even Tanya Roberts and Denise Richards didn't act that badly in the other Bond films.

Don't get me wrong. I really like License to Kill a lot, but I feel Soto is definitely the weak link in the film.

I don't think she is as bad as Tanya Roberts or Denise Richards. She's not great but she's doesn't drag down the movie like the other 2.

Well, her character is supposed to be a vapid, air-headed beauty queen...

I just wish the scene in which she's wearing a red bikini (sunning on Krest's boat) hadn't been cut from the film...

Send her to the snakes!

It is soooo not just you. I just watched this again today and it's a generally very entertaining movie. Dalton, Davi and Lowell are good in it and Q is amazing.

But Talisa Soto is awful. I especially hate her line "I just love James so much." It's a really badly delivered line and it makes no sense. She is truly awful in this and her voice is borderline grating.

I agree with the OP. Talisa Soto has to be one of the weakest Bond Girls in the entire series, but then again I`m sure she wasn't cast for her dramatic acting abilities.
