Did you notice they were not maggots...just plastic rubber fishing lures

Well they were obviously rubber props. The mass pulsating rather than wriggling nature of them would tell you that but I'm pretty sure in the context of the movie they were supposed to be real.

There's a moral to this story Del Boy but for the life of me I can't find it!

Remember that in the next scene (just before Bond met with M) a policeman tells Bond that they found the cocaine, pieces of Killifer and two corpses in Krest's warehouse.
I can't imagine how, but he's dead
