I've never seen Driving Miss Daisy so I can't comment on that, but this is the ONLY role which I can actually remember Morgan Freeman. I mean he's just awesome in this movie. The way he reacts to everyone is classic. This is a far cry from every other movie which he plays a one dimensional sidekick to almost every character. But this movie sets him apart thank god.

amen, that was the dumbest thing to say.....im hoping you haven't seen shawshank, cause if you have, and you think he, or that movie sucked, makes you a canidate for biggest moron on the planet....and you said you hadn't seen driving miss daisy, he was spectacular in that, and some others like, million dollar baby, stole the show in that one, he was even great in dreamcatchers, seven, robin hood, one of his better roles, the list goes on.....if you haven't seen any of them, you're missing out

Freeman is one of the best actors of our time. Only an ignorant fool would say that Lean on Me was Freeman's only good movie when he has been in modern masterpieces such as The Shawshank Redemption, Seven, and Million Dollar Baby.

In my own personal opinion, Morgan Freeman is the best actor of all-time. I've seen countless of his movies, and though I didn't care for the plots of some, he never failed to make them still worth seeing. He can play any role in any genre of movie and be outstanding because of how complex of an actor he is. So if you haven't seen that many of his movies, or just have poor memory of them, don't speak too soon on saying he just plays "one dimensional sidekicks."

No, Driving Miss Daisy was great too. In fact, he played that role on stage before he did the film. Also, check out Shawshank Redemption, Million Dollar Baby, Deep Impact, and Clean and Sober to name a few.

whoo boy. i haven't read the replies to THIS doozy, but i can only imagine the flaming that surely ensues. i actually can't wait to see the firebombing. i imagine the NUMBER ONE RATED MOVIE ON THIS WEBSITE might come up once. or twice. and that's really just a start. so your problem is that you think he plays second fiddle in most of his roles? well driving miss daisy he plays a f###ing uncle tom in absolutely one of the most racist and vile movies i've ever seen in my life. but okay, here's my list of movies that i believe he gives great and popular performances: street smart, glory, unforgiven,the shawshank redemption, seven, amistad, million dollar baby, batman begins/dark knight and a little movie called invictus were he was on screen for pretty much the whole damn thing, and OWNED it.
