Stand and Deliver is a better film

Just saying. I'm comparing the two because they have a similar theme. NOT the same, just similar.

I thought Stand and Deliver does a much better job of showing realistic progress in incremental steps. Lean on Me had a more made-for-TV feel, left some sub stories dangling, and overall just wasn't nearly as well done as the other.

But wow that was one rough school in 1987 or whenever it was supposed to be!

Of course it is.
S&D is one of the greatest films ever on the subject.

Lean on Me succumbs to formula and a weak ending but has a lot of good scenes and at least one great one. The HNIC faceoff between Freeman and Guillaume is magnificent.
