Mr. Terry Silver lived in ...
... The House on Haunted Hill!
I wonder if they filled in that acid pit in the basement.
... The House on Haunted Hill!
I wonder if they filled in that acid pit in the basement.
Hope they eventually made time to fill the pool at the South Seas apartment complex.
sharePretty sure Silver used the empty pool to dump some chloride sludge.
shareYou obviously don't watch Cobra Kai
shareThe residents of the seven seas apartments could swim in the chloride sludge… it’s not like they know what chloride sludge is and what they don’t know can’t hurt them.
shareIt would probably remind them of that time they forded the Rio Grande.
shareIt would be an improvement over the stagnant swamp old man Miyagi oversaw.
shareIf Miyagi was such a good guy how come he allowed the resident of Seven Seas to live in such abject squalor? Miyagi was supposed to fix the place up but he just acted like a slumlord getting drunk while the people in the apartment complex were forced to live like animals. Daniel and Lucille WERE animals mind you, but still.
shareTo fix the place up he would have to do it within the budget allocated by the owner. The blame therefore lies with the person who owns the building. As Mrs Milo says 'I told you that bum (the owner) would sell the place one day and you would be out of a job'.
Once again you try not to let the facts get in the way of your lies.
Miyagi was embezzling the maintenance budget to spend on his car collection. While he cruised the boardwalk prowling for underage trim, little Jimmy in 3B was left wondering if the pool would be fixed in time for his birthday party.
Mrs Milo had late stage dementia and didn’t know what the fuck she was talking about.
Miyagi was embezzling the maintenance budget to spend on his car collection.
Pure conjecture on your part....consider it dismissed

Pure conjecture on your part and wrong to boot seeing as she was right....consider it dismissed.
In fact you couldn't be further off the mark if you tried. How sad. Never mind though I'm sure the chimps in your disturbed little mind will help you up off the floor where I have so emphatically dumped you.
How could a maintenance man in a crumbling Reseda apartment complex afford a classic car collection including a 1947 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible, a 1956 Nash Metropolitan, a 1950 Cadillac sedan, a 1951 Pontiac Woodie Wagon and a 1942 Chevy pickup?
Well he has no family to spend money on and the cars were possibly wrecks when he acquired them and he restored them himself.
Not rocket science is it?
You’re so naive it’s painful. Miyagi was clearly skimming off the top, dipping into the maintenance budget to fund his own personal hobbies while the complex fell apart. His neglect led to its closure.
shareVery astute observation. You either uncovered a plot hole or Miyagi was a crook.
shareHe left abruptly for a weeks long vacation, not giving management enough time to find a replacement to oversee things. The complex went under in his absence.
shareCompassionate leave is something all business owners should be prepared for. If they are not then it is their fault not the fault of the employee.
Guess you don't want the facts to get in the way of your bullshit eh?
“There exists no law in the State of California which requires employers to offer bereavement time to their employees, whether for unpaid time or paid time off… Until someone is successful, no state law guarantees an employee the right to any days of unpaid bereavement leave or paid bereavement leave.”
Miyagi broke the law with such reckless abandon it’s hard to keep up with his crimes. He probably got time off to attend the funeral, but then made a vacation out of it, palling around in Okinawa while the property disintegrated. By the time he was back from his vacay, the maintenance nightmares caused by his absence had already forced the owners to sell.
You’re so naive it’s painful.
Really?
Seeing as Miyagi is just the maintenance guy (an employee of the owner) and is entitled to holidays/compassionate leave. Then it is obvious that the owner would have arranged cover in his absence. If not then the neglect is solely down to the owner.
Methinks it is you who is naive here. Naive or clueless, you choose.
Now that corrupt Miyagi is dead and can no longer skim from the Maintenance budget to fuel his alcohol addiction and car collection they were able to hire someone to actually fix the pool https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-sDfSKxMuEA
shareIt actually seems like a nice place to live now that it’s being properly taken care of. Miyagi’s neglect drove down the property value and allowed lowlifes like the LaRussos and the Fernandezes to infest it.
shareSee, I told you that the chimps in your disturbed mind would come to pick you up.
It actually seems like a nice place to live now that it’s being properly taken care of.
You mean money invested by the new owners.
Miyagi’s neglect drove down the property value and allowed lowlifes like the LaRussos and the Fernandezes to infest it.
Think you mean the old owners neglect. As for lowlifes isn't LaRusso a worse person now that he is a respectable business man. I mean he's not as bad as Silver, but he's not exactly humble is he?
Throughout the first film, did Miyagi ever address the problem with the pool? He presented himself as a Mr Fix-it but when it counted he could not be relied upon.
shareThroughout the first film, did Miyagi ever address the problem with the pool?
Throughout the film did we ever see him go to the toilet? Does that mean it didn't happen?
He presented himself as a Mr Fix-it but when it counted he could not be relied upon.
He is presented as the maintenance guy who after his break got on with his job which included fixing the tap (faucet) in the LaRussos apartment.
You have watched the whole movie and not just the bits you think proves your point haven't you?
The pool was in a disgraceful state, providing a breeding ground for mosquitos and posing a risk to children. It was his job to oversee the compound yet he could not be bothered, choosing to waste away his days catching flies and drinking cheap sake.
shareBy the looks of that pool the chlorination pump didn't work. That's down to the owner to pay for. It was Miyagis job as maintenance man to report it. No more and no less.
shareHorse shit.
shareWhat would you know? Every post you ever put on the boards has absolutely no basis in fact. You are one of those dickheads who has no idea what they are on about yet thinks they are an authority on said matters.
You are an absolute clown shoe.
You suffer from serious mental delusions.
Stop making excuses for Miyagi’s poor job performance. He was a terrible maintenance man who didn’t care about how his laziness affected the lives of others. While he lived it up in Okinawa, chasing Yuki, the complex went to shit.
You suffer from serious mental delusions.
Yet it is you who is ignoring the reality of the situation.
Stop making excuses for Miyagi’s poor job performance. He was a terrible maintenance man who didn’t care about how his laziness affected the lives of others.
If this is/was true then it is down to the owner to act on this. But as Mrs Milo says, the owner is a bum. This is the person who has ultimate authority and (whether you like it or not) ultimate responsibility for the South Seas Apartments.
While he lived it up in Okinawa, chasing Yuki, the complex went to shit.
Again you miss the very valid point that it was down to the owner to sort out cover while Miyagi was away.
It is really sad that a fantasist such as yourself believes their own bullshit even when confronted with real world facts. Still, you can always seek solace eating Cheetohs in your basement eh?
People lost their homes because Miyagi turned a few days bereavement leave into an extended vacation. The owner became overwhelmed by the countless maintenance problems Miyagi left behind and was forced into selling.
As stated above, Mrs Milo had late stage dementia and cannot be relied upon as a source.
People lost their homes because Miyagi turned a few days bereavement leave into an extended vacation.
That's a pure and simple lie
The owner was forced into selling when he became overwhelmed by the countless maintenance problems Miyagi left behind.
And the lies keep coming
Mrs Milo had late stage dementia and cannot be relied upon as a source.
But apparently your fantasising can.
Do you know something nobody else does here? Is it somehow known to you that Silver owned the South Seas? What other reason could you have to defend the obviously negligent ex owner of the South Seas apartments?
I mean it has already been explained to you that Miyagi was entitled to compassionate leave and it was the owners responsibility to sort cover in his absence. It has also been explained that all complaints regarding lack of a reasonable level of maintenance will have gone direct to the owner and as such it was his responsibility to resolve said issues even if it meant replacing Miyagi. But still you insist the fault lies with the lowest position on the rung here.
Did you own the South Seas? Is that the real issue here?

In which case the employer would have no legal responsibility to pay Miyagi while he was away. But, he could/should have employed someone to cover said position while Miyagi was away seeing as the upkeep and maintenance is still his (the owners) responsibility.

This ^^^^ again shows how desperate you are to blame Miyagi that you will simply pass the responsibility of a bum landlord on to him.....shame on you!
But, he could/should have employed someone to cover said position while Miyagi was away seeing as the upkeep and maintenance is still his (the owners) responsibility.
Miyagi gave the owner short notice, departing for Okinawa on a whim without providing directions about the mountain of problems he was leaving behind.
Irrelevant. Death and accident don't have a timetable.
Even the most experienced of maintenance men would have had trouble sorting through that mess.
Especially when the owner is tight with the purse strings.
It’s almost as if he deliberately sabotaged the complex with the end goal of having Daniel move in with him.
Daniel moved in with him because his mother went to care for Uncle Louie...or did you conveniently forget that?
Maybe he even poisoned Uncle Louie to get rid of the obstacles posed by Lucille.
Ah here we go, back with the conspiracy theories. Go to the moon landing website with your nonsense.
Irrelevant. Death and accident don't have a timetable.
That comment explains everything about you and your ramblings on here.
shareIn case you forgot (more like wilfully ignore) the owner sold the apartments while Miyagi was still alive. It was obviously bought by someone who was prepared to spend some money on the place. But yeah, don't let the facts ruin your bullshit eh?
shareThe new owner had the good sense to fire Miyagi and find a replacement. He took one look at the premises and knew he was an alcoholic degenerate.
shareHe never met him so that's a lie. He took one look and realised no money had been invested. He also most likely had his own team.
But then none of that matters to you as you would rather believe your own (misinformed ) lies.
You don’t know shit WA. Miyagi was unemployable.
shareAnd yet he was employed.
Seems it's you who doesn't know shit.
Would YOU hire Miyagi WA? A man of has a history of stealing???
shareWould YOU hire Miyagi WA?
He's dead.
A man of has a history of stealing???
Plagiarism is stealing. Should nobody hire YOU then?
Trolling the dojo while you should be at work means you should be fired. It’s past 8am there… get back to work or else your boss will throttle you in the car lot for lolligagging.
shareNormally I would start work at 9.00am, but then I've told you that numerous times so it isn't my fault you are an idiot. Either way it matters little as I am off work for a few days. You on the other hand need to get out of your basement and get a job and pay your way in life.
shareSo the rest of Great Britain has to work from 8-9a while you sit on your ass trolling? You should use that extra hour in the morning to contribute to the economy of your country and being productive.
shareSo the rest of Great Britain has to work from 8-9a
The people of the UK don't all start at that time. They start work and finish at different times. It all depends on the requirements of the job.
Something you might have a clue about if you (a) lived in the UK and (b) ever had a job.
“After! After!”
I always just assumed Miyagi was skimming.
He essentially drank his paycheck so some other source of income was required to pay for his matchstick and crepe paper bungalow.
