The Dates in The Movie Appear Messed Up?

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

When I first saw the film, I did what was customary for me. That was to further research the case by looking up the dates in the film to research articles about the case. From what I remember, the dates given in the film for Pernell's trial and the hearings for Steven and Timothy do not seem to match. Were dates in the film changed for legal reasons or privacy? Does anyone know the actual dates of when things happened? The only dates that are for sure correct AFAIK, are Steve's abduction, Timothy's abduction, and the return of each to their families after Steven escaped with him.

It's most likely an oversight or error on the part of the film-makers. Perhaps you could create a "Goof" section?

Also, remember that Hollywood has a long and storied (deservedly bad) reputation for twisting facts for dramatic effect. It's a dramatic representation of the facts, NOT a documentary. At least you are doing you're own research instead of assuming the film is an accurate portrayal of events.
