I think i'll never get over the fact that she wasn't prosecuted for what she herself did to Steven (like Parnell she was getting away with the sexual abuse) but what i don't get is, that she was a witness in Parnell's preliminary hearing and talked about how she didn't know about any abuse, even though she himself raped him.

She also visited Steven and his parents in March 1980, about two weeks after he got home (Mike Echols wrote something about her WANTIG to visit in summer though, with reporters to sell the story? Echols said that Kay threw the door in her face... i don't know if that also happened, but there is newspaper-proof including photos of Barbara's visit in March) and kinda joked around with Steven?? I don't know if he was nice to her because he was ashamed of what she did in the past or because he didn't want to tell his parents about that, but "seeing" her sitting in the Stayner's living room and talking about how nice she was to him, that they had a good relationship (she said he called her mom, Kay jokingly hit Steven because of that= and everything.. this just makes me SICK!

Agree, Barbara was just plain evil. What I didn't understand though was why Parnell also wanted/did sleep with Barbara? I didn't think Parnell was into women at all. Did she deny what she did to Steven's parents? I have only seen the movie so far so only have that to go on.

When Barbara was visiting, Steven hasn't told anyone about anything.. although the media had revealed that Parnell was a child molester a few days after Steven came back, Steven only admitted being molested BY PARNELL at the end of March, a few days after Barbara visited..
Kay would never have treated Barbara well, if she knew about her raping Steven when he was 9. I guess that Steven revealed that only at a time when that book from Echols was written?

Oh and btw Parnell was married 3 times, he has 2 daughters, his first one was born in May 1951 and his second one in August 1957. Pedophiles are often married.. i guess he didn't mind sleeping with a woman as long as he could sleep with ANYONE. I don't believe he was really gay though, a lot of pedophiles aren't, but there aren't really heterosexual either.. If he had been (completely) gay, he wouldn't have lost interest in Steven and his friend when they were 14/15 i believe.

Thanks for the info. I hope he never did anything to his own kids. I wonder what his family think of his crimes?

Well, because he had two girls, i hope and think he didn't..

That's what I was going to say, lucky they were girls, but then he was married to so I guessed he would have sex with anyone?
