No, it would be murder 1.
They were all premeditated, and she has no history of mental problems.

In the '80s, it wouldn't have been too hard to get away with. Not even DNA evidence was commonplace in some states. Especially so in the context of the film, where the cops are smoking doobies in a parked car in the woods waiting to think they hear gunshots.
