'Harlem Nights' - the Eddie Murphy Masterpice.

'Harlem Nights' is the Eddie Murphy "Masterpiece". Starring the GREAT Richard Pryor and the truly gifted Eddie Murphy himself! It is so well written that, it's perfect. Everyone is so into their character that you are actually transported to the very time and place and ride happily along laughing ALL the way! So filled with wonderful people like Stan Shaw as 'The Champ' and Redd Foxx as 'Benny "Snake Eyes" Wilson' (not to forget Sunshine, Tommy, Vera Walker, Crying Man, Cantone, Quick and the ultimate - Sugar), it's hard to top this film. The ONLY downer is the excessive use of the "f" word, but, at times, that's what sends you rolling! Pryor fans will remember Monty Brewster's hired chief security guard, who makes an appearance as a hilarious crap-shooter in one of the most memorable scenes in movie history! From the clothing, to the cars, streets, and architecture of the sweet time period, to the awesome music, to everything and everyone involved, this is the best 2 hours you've spent at the movies since ...'Coming To America'. 10 for "Excellent" is selling this Blockbuster short! ENJOY!

this is by far one of the funniest movies ever made. the scene between Redd Foxx and Della Reese when she's trying to find something to fix in the kitchen is priceless. too bad everybody crucified Murphy for this film. i think half the people who ranted against it didn't even see it. how could you possibly take offense (as some did) to Murphy punching a woman, when that woman was tough-old Della Reese? god that fight scene was hilarious!!

It is, and will always be one of my favorite comedies. Can't recall how many times I've seen it.
