Why would Rachel's parents keep Jamie after she tried to murder the foster mother?

I never understood that, if you have a foster kid you haven't kept but a year, would you still keep her if she tried to murder you or your wife with a pair of scissors? thats the dumbest thing in this movie, Rachel is as close to Jamie as ever, even though she nearly murdered her mother, and the parents apparently send their love and still adore this kid.

I just don't get it, this girl repeatedly stabbed your mother with scissors and you're still visiting her and being a loving foster sister to her? Get the fuck outta here.

They are very compassionate, I guess.

Uh, that wasn't really her that stabbed her mother..... it was Michael coming into her mind telepathically and forcing her to do it. Did you not listen to Dr. Loomis explain that?

reply

Lol i'm sure the parents believed that shit "Oh alls forgiven we know you was possessed by your serial killer uncle".

Keep in mind, they placed her in a mental hospital so they didn't exactly let her off the hook, they figured she was probably traumatized by the experience of H4 and didn't put all the blame on her alone..... why would she stab her mother for no reason? Look at it from their point of view. It's just common sense and I think they would've understood the situation of what was happening although maybe not the telepathic thing.
